The War on Inclusion and the Hypocrisy of Those Who Took the Oath

Published on 7 February 2025 at 21:00

Let’s get one thing straight: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) isn’t just some liberal buzzword or a handout to the ‘woke’ crowd. It’s the backbone of a functional, fair, and free society. It protects everyone, you, your wife, your kids, your aging parents, and yes, even the military veterans who have started spewing ignorant nonsense about it. It’s not some abstract concept, it’s the reason you and your family are safe.

And yet, DEI is under attack, not just from politicians looking for a new culture war to exploit but from people who should know better veterans and active-duty military personnel. That’s right, the very people who swore an oath to defend the Constitution and protect American freedoms are the same ones turning their backs on the very programs that ensure those freedoms apply to everyone.

The Oath of Enlistment:

"I, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

That oath wasn’t just words you mumbled in a ceremony. It meant something. You swore to defend ALL Americans, not just the ones who look, think, and live like you. Turning your back on DEI isn’t just an insult to that oath it’s an insult to your fellow service members and the very country you claim to love.

The Very Thing That Protects You

While some in the military bash DEI, these programs exist to protect you to ensure that veterans, active-duty members, and their families get the resources, assistance, and dignity they deserve. Here’s how DEI is making sure you and your family don’t get left behind:

1️⃣ Accessible Communication for Injured Veterans

  • Many veterans come home with hearing loss, PTSD, or traumatic brain injuries (TBI), all of which make communication a struggle.

  • DEI provides adaptive communication tools, allowing veterans to navigate services, employment, and daily life with ease.

2️⃣ Career Transition & Job Placement

  • Military experience doesn’t always translate into civilian jobs.

  • DEI-powered AI tools help veterans find careers, translate their skills, and ensure they aren’t left behind in the job market.

3️⃣ Disability and Medical Support

  • Over 4.7 million disabled veterans rely on medical assistance.

  • DVI enhances VA access, making it easier to schedule appointments, access medical records, and receive the healthcare they earned.

4️⃣ PTSD and Mental Health Assistance

  • The suicide rate among veterans is alarmingly high.

  • DEI provides AI-driven crisis intervention, 24/7 mental health support, and connections to professional help.

5️⃣ Veteran Affairs (VA) Navigation

  • The VA system is a bureaucratic nightmare.

  • DEI assists veterans in navigating the complex system, ensuring they get their benefits, medical care, and compensation without getting lost in the shuffle.

6️⃣ Housing and Homelessness Prevention

  • Thousands of veterans struggle with homelessness.

  • DEI helps connect them with housing programs, rental assistance, and veteran-specific resources.

7️⃣ Adaptive Tech for Wounded Warriors

  • DEI ensures hands-free, voice-activated technology to help wounded warriors live independently and with dignity.

8️⃣ Family Support and Reintegration

  • The transition back to civilian life isn’t just hard for veterans it’s hard for their families.

  • DEI programs help families reconnect, communicate, and navigate post-service life.

9️⃣ Military Spouse & Family Employment Support

  • Military spouses face absurdly high unemployment rates.

  • DEI helps them find flexible, remote jobs, stabilizing financial security for military families.

🔟 Suicide Prevention & Crisis Intervention

  • Veterans make up 14% of all suicides in the U.S.

  • DEI’s AI-driven crisis support detects warning signs and provides immediate intervention before it’s too late.

Wake Up!  Diversity Protects You

The next time you feel the urge to bash DEI ask yourself this:

  • Would you deny your fellow veterans access to critical healthcare?

  • Would you deny their spouses the ability to find a stable job?

  • Would you tell a wounded warrior that they don’t deserve adaptive technology to live independently?

  • Would you let a veteran struggling with PTSD be ignored until it’s too late?

If you don’t support DEI, then that’s exactly what you’re advocating for. And that’s disgusting.

Diversity doesn’t just protect minorities. It protects everyone.

  • It keeps women safe.

  • It protects your children and your grandparents.

  • It ensures fair opportunities for veterans and their families.

  • And yes, it even protects you.

If you took the oath, then you have an obligation to stand up for every American. You don’t get to pick and choose. Either you fight for all, or you’re just another hypocrite spitting on the very Constitution you swore to defend.

DEI are not the enemy.....ignorance is. It’s time to wake up. Support inclusion. Support equity. Support the people who fought beside you.

Because one day, you or someone you love will need this. And by then, it might be too late.
